System Requirements:

  • MacOS or Windows PC/Laptop with a Desktop Browser installed (IE, Edge, Chrome, Firefox, Opera or Safari).
  • Java must be installed and enabled on your PC/Laptop.
  • Access to the Internet (TRIAX Design Online is a live Web-application, and it does require Internet access to work)
  • Smartphones and Tablets are not supported as they do not support Java (iPhone, iPad, Android, etc.). 1 2
    NOTE: Only the actual Design part of the APP are using Java. So you can always access all your designs and perform PDF reporting and printouts using Smartphones and Tablets.

NOTE: Chrome and Firefox functionality with Java is slightly crippled as Google and Mozilla respectively have disabled the Java-APP auto-start functionality.
Both browsers can still be used with the DOL Java application though. The application will not start automatically. You just need to click an icon to start, first.

  1. Apple (Steve Jobs) never allowed Java on any iOS devices (IPhone, iPad) which has been the cause of much debate and hassle over the years.
    However, this decision was never changed, and consequently only MacOS still (reluctantly) supports it. Read more here ↩

  2. Google has decided to go for the Java 'flavour' Kotlin in future Android development, and has not supported 'real' Java (from Sun/Oracle) for some time. In reality, the reasons behind both Apple and Googles decisions shall most probably be found in the fact that this is due to the 'Clashes of Titans', three (Sun/Oracle, Apple, Google) very large IT Companies who does not want to put any money or glory into the pockets of their competitors. ↩
